Q: How much does it cost to appeal a trial?

A: A: Many firms hire specialized lawyers to handle appeals. Those lawyers can charge anywhere from $10,000 to $25,000 or more for an appeal. Some law firms have in-house attorneys handle their appeals. Make sure to ask your lawyer what happens if you have to appeal a decision or a verdict, and whether that fee is included within your original retainer agreement.
