What is an 'Authorization'?

 

A: An authorization is a permission slip that gives your lawyer or the defense lawyers permission to get your medical records. Since your lawsuit involves claims that you suffered physical injury, it is vitally important that your medical records are released.

The only way that your doctors are permitted by law to release your medical records is by presenting them with written permission to do so.
