What is voir dire?

A: It’s a fancy name that means jury selection. Depending on which part of the country you’re in, lawyers pronounce it differently.

Voi Deire

It doesn’t matter how it’s pronounced. The simple fact is that it means an opportunity for your lawyer to select a jury in your trial.

How a jury is selected, or better put, how a jury selects you, is a topic for another blog post.
