Jury Awards Millions in Greyhound Lawsuit Gina Bennett August 11,2005 We've got an update on the attack of a Greyhound bus driver that happened four years ago.. Chattanooga attorney Andy Burke says his client, Sharon Surles, who was on the bus, has won compensatory damages of eight million dollars against Greyhound. Surles is a parapalegic as a result of the crash. Burke says the trial ended with jurors finding that Greyhound did not properly protect its passengers. You'll remember, a bus driver survived being stabbed in the neck along Interstate 24, near Manchester, which is about 60 miles northwest of Chattanooga. The bus toppled over and skidded into a field, killing six people including the suspect. A Greyhound spokesperson says they will examine the veridct and then decide whether to appeal.
