Jury awards $10 million to boy injured in wreck Associated Press CHARLOTTE, N.C. - A Mecklenburg County jury has awarded ten (m) million dollars to an eleven-year-old boy severely injured in a traffic accident two years ago in Charlotte. The accident has left Nicolas Mora confined to a wheelchair for the rest of his life. He is unable to walk or talk. Attorney Charles Monnett represents the boy, and says Nicolas will need around-the-clock medical care for the rest of his life. The lawsuit says Nicolas suffered a severe brain injury in the November 2004 wreck in southwest Charlotte. Nicolas was a passenger in his aunt's car, and the lawsuit alleges that she and another motorist drove their vehicles in a careless and negligent manner that resulted in the collision. The lawsuit says the boy's aunt and the other motorist failed to keep proper lookout and failed to keep their vehicles under proper control. Monnett said the money will help relieve more than the financial burdens on Nicolas' parents, who have two other children.
