Jury Awards Family Millions In Daughter's Death POSTED: 10:16 pm EST November 18, 2005 WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. -- A jury awarded more than $8 million to the parents of a Greenacres teenager killed in a car crash. Back in June 2003, 16-year-old Erin Fernandez was heading home with friends from a church group when Robert McCreery ran a stop light and crashed into her. "We feel like we got some of our daughter's life back and it wasn't about money but justice," said mother Darlene Fernandez. Back in September, McCreery pleaded guilty to vehicular homicide and was sentenced to five years in prison. The Fernandez family said McCreery has never apologized for killing their daughter. "I miss kissing on her, loving her, laughing with her," said Fernandez.
