Why do I need to sign authorization forms for my case?

A: An authorization is a permission slip that allows us and defense counsel to obtain your medical records. Without it, we are not permitted to obtain your records. Also, your physicians are not allowed to release your records without your permission. In the past, a client used to have to sign many authorizations. Not so anymore. Now there is a new authorization called HIPPA authorization. This allows us to send a photocopy of your original document.
