Jury awards family $1.8 million in death of New Washington woman
By Mike Redelson
BUCYRUS — A Crawford County jury Wednesday awarded the family of a New Washington woman $1.8 million in connection with her death in a car crash in Lorain County.
Jana Conway, 29, her husband, Michael, and her aunt, and Sharon Heydinger, were killed in a crash June 30, 2002, when the car in which they were riding was hit by a vehicle driven by Dorothy M. Dravenstsott on U.S. 224 near Lodi in Medina County.
Their deaths left the couple’s then 1-year-old son, Evan Conway, to be raised by family members in the area.
The suit claims Dravenstott, West Salem, was negligent in her driving, as well as her husband for letting her operate his vehicle.
The Crawford County Common Pleas Court jury of eight, four men and four women, took three-and-and a half hours to return the judgment.
