A young man put his arm through a window and cut his arm badly. In the emergency room, the doctor stitching him up tied off the ulnar nerve in two separate places. If that wasn't bad enough, he failed to recognize the difference between a bleeding artery and a nerve, and never realized the injury he created. The young man required 2 corrective surgeries and now has limited sensation in his hand.
