A woman from Brooklyn, New York had complained to her primary care doctor that she kept seeing traces of blood when she urinated. The doctor did a urinalysis on a few occasions but failed to recognize the significance of the results. He also failed to refer the patient to a urologist when she continued to complain of seeing blood in the bowl.
