http://www.oginski-law.com A woman went to have a uni-compartmental knee replacement, and immediately upon waking from surgery was in extreme pain in the back of her knee. Despite the orthopedist's reassurances that everything was fine, and that physical therapy would solve her problem, the pain continued for the next four months. Follow-up x-rays revealed that the original hardware was not put in the correct position during the original surgery. As a result, this patient had to undergo corrective surgery to remove all of the hardware and then put in a total knee replacement to fix the problem.
